The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence in Brisbane

The Order of Perpetual Indulgence Brisbane House was established in the mid-1990s, bringing the international Sisters’ tradition of queer activism, community service, and “promulgating universal joy” to Queensland. Clad in their distinctive habits and whiteface makeup, the Brisbane Sisters became fixtures at Pride events, fundraisers, and protests.

The Sisters raised thousands of dollars for HIV/AIDS support services, community organisations, and individuals in need.
