The Nundah RSL Hall hosted the Ball during what Laurie Deane later called its halcyon days. Dame Sybil introduced drag floor shows here through her Poverty Productions, performed on a tiny stage with a mosquito-net curtain. Protection and clean-up were provided by members of the local Warlords and Norsemen bikie gangs, who had connections in the camp community.

We pay our respects to the traditional custodians of country and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their culture, their connection to country, and their ancestors and elders past and present.
